Background

The Association of Somaliland Operator Workers (Midnimo) was established to represent, organize, and empower operator workers across Somaliland. These workers include heavy machinery operators, equipment operators, and other technical machine operators involved in construction, transportation, and infrastructure development.

Operator workers play a vital role in Somaliland’s development through their contribution to road construction, building projects, transport systems, and industrial operations. However, many workers face challenges such as lack of formal training, limited safety standards, job insecurity, and lack of representation.

ASOW was created to address these issues by providing a unified platform for advocacy, training, professional development, and welfare support for operator workers.
